FE results. Finite element (FE) results were viewed and qualitatively analyzed with PostView post processing software (Maas et al., 2010). Along-fiber strain was largest along the proximal aponeurosis, or near the proximal myotendinous junction (MTJ), and decreased with distance to the distal aponeurosis. Views are of a longitudinal cross section (cross-section view), from superior of the musculotendon unit (superior view) and from the outside surface (surface view). The superior view shows how the muscle cross-section narrows from the center of the muscle to the proximal aponeurosis.
