Vasculogenesis was monitored in vitro in gels of different w/v% and crosslinking peptides in untreated control gels and in the presence of 10 μM GM6001, DMSO, or 2.2 μM aprotinin in gels and culture media. mCherry tagged-ECs co-encapsulated with unlabeled fibroblasts organized into vascular networks in control gels and in gels containing DMSO or aprotinin, but not in gels containing GM6001.
