Schematic of a high-pressure cell containing a deuterium sealing NaCl capsule, in which an iron specimen reacts with the fluid deuterium produced by decomposition of the internal deuterium sources of AlD₃ pellets. The NaCl capsule is inserted in a cylindrical graphite heater and embedded in a pressure-transmitting medium made of ZrO₂. The cell was compressed with a six-axis multi-anvil press.
