Protein searches were conducted in MASCOT (version 2.2.04) using the NCBI database. The search parameters were as follows: 1) Enzyme specificity – Trypsin; 2) Maximum missed cleavages –1; 3) Carbamidomethyl (C); Oxidation (M) as variable modifications; MASCOT results were filtered using a protein probability value of less than 0.05.
