Effect of CAPs exposure with and without O ₃ on rate of left ventricle contractility and relaxation. Assessment of contractility (dP/dt _max - upper panel) and lusitropy (dP/dt _min - lower panel) were carried out at baseline 24 hrs after exposure - prior to ischemia. Exposure to FCAPs alone significantly decreased dP/dt _max and dP/dt _min at baseline when compared to FA, however there was no effect with O₃ co-exposure (FCAPs/O₃). In contrast, UFCAPs alone had no effect; but, O₃ co-exposure with UFCAPs (UFCAPs/O₃) caused both dP/dt _max and dP/dt _min to significantly decrease when compared to FA.
