Effects of pravastatin and its derivative NCX 6550 on iNOS and COX-2 protein expression in RAW 264.7 cells. After preincubation (30 min) with vehicle (open bars), pravastatin (50 or 100 μM, gray bars) or NCX 6550 (50 or 100 μM, filled bars), cells were stimulated with LPS (1,000 ng/ml) for 16 h. At the end of the incubation period, the supernatants were collected and cells harvested with lysis buffer and Western blot analysis performed. β-Actin was used as the reference housekeeping gene.
