Time-course observations of SDF-1 expression around periodontal tissue defects. In experimental sites, SDF-1 expression was slightly higher at 1 week after surgery when compared with controls. SDF-1 expression peaked at 2 weeks after surgery in experimental tissue. SDF-1 expression decreased to control levels by 4 weeks.
