(A) CsA treatment attenuated a heart failure‐induced decrease in mitochondrial complex I‐dependent respiratory coupling (black bars). (B–C) CsA reduced an increased susceptibility to Ca2+‐induced mitochondrial swelling, an index of MPT, observed in the HF group. Quantification of changes in absorbance in the presence of 25 μmol/L Ca2+ with or without CsA are presented in 3C as area above the curve of the traces in 3B. (*P < 0.05 vs. CON).
