Localization of AG73 peptide-modified liposomes within the tumor.

The tumor-bearing mice (n=6) were intravenously injected with DiI-labeled PEG-liposomes (PEG-L) or DiI-labeled AG73 peptide-modified liposomes (AG73-L) when the tumor volume reached 100–200 mm³ (7 days after tumor inoculation). Liposomes were injected as lipids at a dose of 10 μmol/kg. At 6 h after injection, each tumor was dissected, and the tumor sections were then prepared in slices with widths of 10 μm each. Each section was stained with anti-CD31 antibody for the labeling of the endothelial cells. Green: CD31. Red: fluorescence of DiI. Yellow: the merged green and red indicates the colocalization of liposomes at the site of the vascular endothelial cells. Scale bars represent 50 μm.
