Methods Methods of randomisation and allocation concealment were not described
Participants 20 patients undergoing bimaxillary osteotomy were randomly assigned to one of two groups
  1. Desmopressin (DDAVP) group: n = 10; M/F = 1/9.

  2. Control group (No DDAVP) group: n = 10; M/F = 4/6.

NB: Age of patients was not reported.
Interventions
  1. DDAVP group received 20 ug of DDAVP mixed in 50 ml of normal saline, administered IV over one-half hour prior to the surgical procedure.

  2. Control group did not receive DDAVP.

NB: Both groups were exposed to pre-operative autologous blood donation (PAD)
