Comparison of movement paths of two toads. Both toads had been captured and released at the same point and both moved approximately 600 m in five moves over 5 days. Toad 1, represented by the solid line and closed symbols (tracked in March 2007), had a straight path, with circular variance = 0.021 and fractal D = 1.002. Toad 2, represented by the dashed line and open symbols, (tracked in February 2014), had a crooked path, with circular variance = 0.93 and fractal D = 1.182.
