Notch2 expression was increased in diabetic glomeruli, and this effect was enhanced in diabetic Mafb TG glomeruli. Analysis of Notch signaling expression by quantitative RT-PCR in diabetic Mafb TG glomeruli. We observed increased expression of Notch1 and Notch4, Notch ligands (Jag1 and Dll1), and Notch target genes (Hes1 and Hey1) in WT STZ glomeruli. The fold induction of these genes was mitigated in TG STZ glomeruli. Meanwhile, glomerular Notch2 expression was increased in TG CON mice. Notch2 expression was further potentiated in TG STZ mice.
