The goblet cell markers CK-7 (A, green) and UEA-1 (B, green) were co-labeled with PCNA (red) in primary cultures of rat conjunctival cells independent of harvesting site. Nuclei were stained with DAPI (blue). Both CK-7+ (A, arrows) and UEA-1+ (B, arrow) goblet cells co-expressed PCNA after eight days in culture, indicating cell proliferative activity.
