Typing Staging Retinopathy
Simple DR, also known as background DR I: Microaneurysms, punctate and hemorrhage (+): Less, easy to be counted. (++): More, difficult to be counted
II: Hard exudates and/or bleeding (+): Less, easy to be counted. (++): More, difficult to be counted
III: Cotton wool turbidity (soft exudates) and/or bleeding (+): Less, easy to be counted. (++): More, difficult to be counted
Proliferative DR IV Retinal neovascularization or vitreous hemorrhage
V Retinal neovascularization and fibrous proliferation
VI Retinal neovascularization and fibrous proliferation, retinal detachment
