Seed and target regions of interest for probabilistic tractography. Seeds comprise 3 insular subdivisions: anterior (AI), mid (MI), and posterior (PI). Targets comprise 12 pain-related targets: thalamus (THA), primary and secondary somatosensory cortex (SI and SII), dorsal and rostral anterior cingulate cortex (dACC and rACC), dorsolateral and ventrolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC and VLPFC), amygdala (AMYG), orbitofrontal cortex (OFC), periaqueductal grey (PAG), posterior midcingulate cortex (pMCC), and subgenual anterior cingulate cortex (sgACC). Note that same regions of interest were used in analyses on resting state functional connectivity.
