Figure 9.

Delayed migration of OPCs into the cortex by inhibition of type I Bmp receptors. To inhibit type I Bmp receptors, 1 μl of LDN-193189 (100 μm) was injected into the lateral ventricle of E14.5 embryos and cortices were analyzed at E17.5. One percent DMSO was injected as a vehicle control. A, Representative images of cortices stained for pSMAD1/5/8. A′, A graph shows the intensities of pSMAD1/5/8 (n = 4). A measure function of ImageJ software was used. B, Representative images of cortices stained for both Pdgfrα and Olig2 at E17.5. B′, A graph shows the number of OPCs in the cortex (n = 4). C, Representative images of ventral OPCs stained for both Pdgfrα and Olig2 at E17.5. C′, A graph shows the number of OPCs in the ventral forebrain (n = 4). Scale bars: 100 μm. Error bars depict SEM.
