Positively convergent reports of whether mothers believed the child’s disclosure (i.e., when both mothers and children reported that mothers believed the child’s disclosure) were associated with lower risk for illicit drug use than divergent reports (i.e., when mothers’ and children’s reports of whether the mother believed the child’s disclosure conflicted) or negatively convergent reports (when mothers and children reported that the disclosure was believed “somewhat”.)
