Tungsten particles of the indicated sizes were coated with plasmid DNA and shot at plated A. coffeaeformis cells using a helium pulse of 1550 psi (black bars) or 2000 psi (grey bars). Transformed clones were quantified by counting the number of colonies that grew on agar plates containing the antibiotic nourseothricin.
