Cortical activation maps are shown for the contrasts of Linear – Match (A), Quad – Simple, masked with Linear – Match (B), Simple – Match (C), and Linear – Simple (D). Activation is projected onto the left (L) and right lateral surfaces of a standard brain (family-wise error corrected P<0.05), as well as onto the dorsal surface where there was significant activation. A transverse plane at z = 1 shows activation in the left anterior short insular gyrus. See Tables 3 for the stereotactic coordinates.
