Pain was assessed with a visual analogue scale (0–100 mm; with 0 equal no pain and 100 being the worst imaginable pain). Comparisons between the groups were made as area under the curve (AUC) for the interval 1–8 h postoperatively, showing no statistically significant difference between the groups (P = 0.43).
