Punch biopsies of skin from patients with BP were subjected to IL-17 staining alone (a) or double immunofluorescence staining for IL-17 (green) and either CD3 (b), MPO (c), or tryptase (d) in red with Hoescht counterstain (blue). These high-power fields at the dermo-epidermal junction (DEJ) illustrate the colocalization of IL-17 with MPO and tryptase (yellow) but not with CD3.
