Accumulation depends on patch area and the amplitude of the slowdown in the patch. The extent of accumulation N_in/(N_Tϕ) ranges from 1.0 (no accumulation, N_in/N_T = ϕ) for τ_C = 1.0 (i.e., D_in = D_out) to 1/ϕ (all the molecules are inside the patch), when τ_C → ∞ (i.e., D_in → 0). The symbols are identical to those in Figure 2. The dashed line locates the curve N_in/(N_Tϕ) = 1/ϕ. The anomalous exponent γ = 0.8 (A) or 0.4 (B).
