Amborella SUTs (black squares) are sister to modern angiosperm members that form eudicot- and monocot-specific branches, with Aquilegia (black circle) and Phoenix/Musa (black triangles) SUTs at the respective basal positions. Type IIB is derived from the monocot branch of Type II, forming three subclades P1, P2, and P3.
