EvN functions for S+ (squares) and S− (circles) tests in S cone noise, for two observers (on different vertical scales). The S+ function is ∼3 (DR) to 16 (QW) times steeper than the S− function, even though the noise contains equal amounts of incremental and decremental S-cone contrast.
