Nonselective HDACis enhance neurotoxicity of cisplatin and camptothecin. Rat cortical neurons were treated as indicated. MTT assay was performed at 24 h after starting co-treatments. Combinations of the pan-HDACis TSA or SAHA with the DNA damaging anticancer drugs camptothecin or cisplatin resulted in pronounced reductions of neuronal survival.
