A — There is mild variation of the myofiber size, characterized by the presence of scattered single or small contiguous groups of mildly to moderately smaller and angular myofibers and scattered slightly enlarged myofibers. Some myofibers (< 10% of the total myofibers) have paracentral nuclei. The perimysium and endomysium are expanded by loose connective tissue. H&E stain; Bar = 200 μm. B — One myofiber near the center of the image is necrotic, with fragmentation of the sarcoplasm and infiltration by low number of macrophages and eosinophils.
