  1. Strains were grown on solid minimal medium with the given iron availability under xylP-driven cccAOE non-inducible (0% xylose) and inducible (0.5% xylose) conditions for 48 h at 37°C.
  2. Northern blot analysis was performed after liquid growth for 24 h at 37°C under iron limitation and a subsequent 1-h shift to iron sufficiency (sFe). rRNA is shown as a control for RNA quantity and quality.
