Comparison of the proteome of the purified BΔU1 spliceosome with that of the activated spliceosome (complex B^*), the 35S U5 snRNP, and the 25S U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP particle

Proteins in the dark blue box, namely NPW38BP, NPW38, NCoR-1, hPrp4 kinase, FBP-21, TBLR-1, SMC1, and p220/NPAT, are not found in the activated spliceosome. Most of the 35S U5 snRNP proteins highlighted red are either absent or significantly under-represented (indicated by italics) in the BΔU1 complex. The protein compositions of complex B*, the 35S U5 snRNP, and the tri-snRNP, as well as the color code for the various groups of proteins, was taken from Makarov et al (2002). In this manuscript, the group of proteins highlighted red are referred to as 35S U5 snRNP proteins.
