Domain organization derived from the pam secondary metabolite gene cluster in the genome of Paenibacillus larvae DSM25430. In the genome of P. larvae DSM25430 (NCBI Reference Sequence NC_023134.1) an NRPS/PKS hybrid gene cluster could be identified. The gene cluster of the putative NRP/PK hybrid paenilamicin (pam cluster) consisted of five NRPS, two PKS, and two NRPS/PKS hybrid genes. A, adenylation domain; C, condensation domain; T, thiolation domain; E, epimerization domain; MT, N-methyl transferase; KS, ketosynthetase; AT, acetyltransferase; KR, ketoreductase, and ACP, acyl carrier protein. Domain prediction was performed using SBSPKS (Anand et al. 2010). NRPSs, nonribosomal peptide synthetases; PKSs, polyketide synthases.
