Based on the KEGG ECM-receptor interactions pathway (hsa04512; Supplementary Fig. S5), we depicted a plausible mechanism, where miRNAs regulate components of both extracellular matrix (top panel) and transmembrane receptors (bottom panel) to mediate cell-to-cell communications. The miRNAs and genes drawn via Cytoscape²⁴ are displayed in red diamonds and blue ellipses, respectively, and the edge labels are the posterior probabilities.
