The stimuli in the first column are spatially intact for demonstration purposes, but the stimuli in the experiment were spatially scrambled versions of these animations (second column). For visualization, one dancer is colored in red dots and the other in blue dots. Dot size decreases for time points further in the past. The third and fourth columns include examples of free responses from representative participants that spontaneously used animate (third column), and inanimate (fourth column) descriptions.
