Notice that although the spacing between the cysteine residues is more variable near the N- and C-terminal regions of these proteins, it is very constant in the core of the protein between cysteine residues 4 and 13. However, in the neoneuroparsin four residues are lacking between cysteines 7 and 8, suggesting that the three dimensional structures of these molecules may be different from that of the neuroparsins.
