Figure 1

Sirtuin 1 is overexpressed in primary synovial sarcoma tumors compared with normal mesenchymal cells. (a) Quantitative expression of SIRT1 and SIRT2 was determined by QRT-PCR in RNA samples obtained from fresh frozen synovial sarcomas, synovial sarcoma cell lines (1273-99, Syo1, Bax) rhabdomyosarcoma cell lines (RD, RMS and RH30), a malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) cell line (740728), in three different primary mesenchymal stem cells: MSC 1–3 and in human diploid fibroblasts hF. Relative expression denotes ΔCT values of SIRT1 or SIRT2 in relation to GAPDH. (b) Graphic presentation of SIRT1 and SIRT2 expression in grouped samples. Student's t-test showed no statistical difference among the groups (NS)
