The sirtuin inhibitor tenovin-6 inhibits cell proliferation and induces caspase 3/7 activity in pediatric soft tissue sarcomas. (a) Cell proliferation curves of control and tenovin-6 (Tv6)-treated soft tissue sarcoma cell lines followed in real time over a 96-h period using the xCELLigence bioanalyzer. Cells were plated and allowed to form monolayers. The drug was added 24 h after plating (blue arrow). Cell index is a relative unit derived from changes in electrical impedance in a surface; in this case, impedance is proportional to cell confluence giving a quantitative rate of cell numbers. (b) Caspase 3/7 activity was measured in cells after 48 h treatment with Tv6. The fold change is relative to untreated control cells (value=1). Syo-1 and K-SS1: synovial sarcoma cell lines.
