The “Intra-abdominal Trauma” category was generated from subtotals of operations for esophageal, gastric, duodenal, small bowel, colon, splenic, hepatic, kidney, and pancreatic trauma, as well as repair of the abdominal aorta or vena cava and cases coded as trauma laparotomy or laparoscopy.
