*Rate of ATP synthesis measured using the substrate succinate with the complex I inhibitor rotenone±S.E.M. (n). No statistically significant differences were detected (P<0.050 level) between +/+ and fky/fky samples, measured by unpaired t tests, correcting for multiple comparisons using the Holm–Sidak method (GraphPad, PRISM V6.0b).
