Neurons in the PPN were recorded simultaneously using high-density multielectrodes across different dorso-ventral locations. Two examples of each neuronal subgroup (quiescent, tonic firing and irregular firing neurons) are depicted as events in order to show the range of properties and responses within the distinct groups.
