Clearance experiments show higher fractional phosphate excretion and confirm the phosphate wasting phenotype of AC6−/− mice. Higher fractional phosphate excretion in AC6−/− mice. Acute bolus application of vehicle (0.85% NaCl) in clearance experiments under anesthesia resulted in comparable plasma phosphate levels between the genotypes, whereas AC6−/− mice have a modestly lower GFR associated with a significantly higher fractional phosphate excretion. AC6−/− mice have a significantly higher fractional fluid excretion.
