Bhd+/− mice do not exhibit higher lung injury parameters following ventilation at high tidal volume. Bhd+/− and Bhd+/+ littermate controls (n = 5 per group) were subjected to ventilation at high tidal volume (24 cc/kg) for 6 h. Bhd+/− mice exhibited a trend toward increased lung elastance after ventilation (P = 0.08 at 6 h) compared with Bhd+/+ mice (A).
