CRISPR3* mutation may affect processing of CRISPR3 RNA transcripts upstream of the insertion. RT-PCR was performed using the primers CRISPR3_UF and CRISPR3_UR (Fig. 2) as described in Materials and Methods. RT-PCR products were resolved on a 1.4% agarose gel and visualized by ethidium bromide staining and UV illumination. The sizes of DNA standards (S) in base pairs are indicated on the left.
