Lactobacillus acidophilus ATCC 4356 treatment does not change the morphology of the mouse small intestine. The small intestine was dissected out and placed in 4% paraformaldehyde for fixation overnight. The tissue was then sliced (10 μm thick). Each slice was deparaffinized and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. The morphology was observed under a microscope (magnification, ×100).
