Mice were injected i.v. with high doses of Pb1, Pb2, and F4 peptides to tolerize cognate CD8+ T cells before inoculation with PbA. (A) Schedule of tolerization experiment with the amount of each peptide. (B) Mouse survival after tolerization and infection. (C) In a separate experiment, tetramer staining was performed on splenocytes from infected mice at day 7 postinfection. (D) Total and parasite-specific CD8+ T cells in brain-sequestered lymphocytes from infected mice were also analyzed at the same time.
