Immunization with mutant forms of 3D7 AMA1 increases the antibody response to conserved epitopes. Constant concentrations of sera raised against wt or mutant forms of AMA1 were allowed to interact with 3D7 (A) or FVO (B) AMA1 in the presence of increasing concentrations of different allelic forms of AMA1. The average residual binding determined from two independent experiments is reported for each rabbit. The means ± standard errors of the means of data for each immunization group are also shown.
