Notes:
This solution had the highest GNP total surface are; denotes that the highest total surface area occurred in mixtures of A that contained 5 nm diameter GNPs (r=2.5 nm) and colloidal concentrations (C) of particles/mL. The number 15.7×1015 nm2/mL was derived by using the formula 4πr2×C to represent GNPs’ total surface area. All colloidal suspensions labeled B had a total surface area of 3.52×1015 nm2/mL. Percent glycation was determined on the basis of the UV reading of each sample relative to that of the control solution set at 100%.
Abbreviations: UV, ultraviolet; BSA, bovine serum albumin; GNP, gold nanoparticles; r, radius.
