EdU staining (A), BrdU staining (B) and Quantification of EdU/BrdU labeling (C). Mice were injected with EdU at 16 hours and BrdU at 3 hours prior to sacrifice. Immunohistochemistry for BrdU and EdU was performed on the mandibular condyles of female 49-day-old WT and ERβ KO mice that were sham-operated or ovariectomized, and treated with either placebo or estradiol (10 nanogram/gram body weight/day).
