Five μL of tempol (500 nmols), edaravone (500 nmols), or vehicle (DMSO) were injected into lateral ventricle 10 min before MCAo. After 2-hr MCAo plus 2-hr reperfusion, animals were euthanized and their cortical tissue was processed for determination of the SH group content (DTNB assay). n=5 for sham, and n=6 for all ischemia groups. *p<0.05, **p<0.01, as indicated.
