PKCη expression has opposing effects on IL-6 and IL-8 transcription in response to oxidative stress and DNA damage. MCF-7 clones expressing sh-PKCη (sh2-2 and sh3-3) or scrambled (sh5-3) control cells were treated with 150 μM H₂O₂ or 400 μM etoposide for 2 h, followed by the addition of fresh medium for 96 h. Total RNA was extracted and cDNA was generated by reverse transcription as described in Materials and Methods.
