Effect on CORM-2 on organ function and MPO activity in liver and lung tissues. Mice were infected by E coli followed by immediate intravenous administration of CORM-2 or iCORM-2. Serum ALT and AST levels and MPO activity in liver and lung tissues were measured 6 h after E coli infection. Serum ALT, AST, and MPO activities in liver and lung tissues were found to be significantly elevated in E coli infected mice as compared to the mice of control group (A, B). In contrast, the corresponding values in the E coli+CORM-2 group were significantly lower than those in the E coli and E coli+iCORM-2 groups (A, B). Data represent the mean±SD. bP<0.05 compared with the control group. eP<0.05 compared with the E coli group.
