Measurements were taken during a 24-hour baseline, at 8 hours of sepsis (mean of 7th and 8th hour) and at 24 hours of sepsis (mean of 23rd and 24th hour) in a control group (C) and a group treated with atenolol from 8 to 24 hours of sepsis (A) (n = 8/group). Values are mean ± SEM for normally distributed or geometric mean (95% confidence interval) for non-normally distributed variables. † P ≤0.01 for baseline vs. 8 hours of sepsis; § P ≤0.01 for 8 hours of sepsis vs. 24 hours of sepsis; * P ≤0.01 for Aten vs. Con. CO: cardiac output; HR: heart rate; SV: stroke volume; MAP: mean arterial pressure; TPC: total peripheral conductance; RBF: renal blood flow; RVC: renal vascular conductance.
