The plots are produced based on two greater values for the efficiency of transmission, ψ₁. In general, R₀ reaches higher values as mosquito densities are increased and the duration interventions have to remain in place are longer as ψ₁ increases. At the greatest efficiency (right panel) vector control does not lead to elimination at high mosquito densities.
